The Strangest thing happened today, I have to write it down somewhere, and I might as well share!

I was walking home with my room mate from the math department after working all day on some boring Elliptic Curves Crap for our summer school when near the side of the Killam library hanging from a half-dead tree; a bird was hanging upside down?

It had not moved while we had move nearer and so we thought it was dead, for a minute, until Jim realized it was moving it's head to stare at us. At this point I was already half way up the side of the tree, and trying to break off the branch from which the bird hung. We freed him, although the bugger squawked like it was the end.

It seems he either somehow tied himself to the tree branch with string, or someone tied him there with string. Which is fucked, because what are the odds of either? Both seem ridiculous; what was the bird thinking if scenario 1 and in scenario two... what the hell was the person thinking?

Ah well it was a welcome dtraction from the constant mindfuck that is Algebraic geometry.
