I'll take the word of a roadie over a silver spooned congressman any fuckin day. There is always a backlash when rockstars speak out on political or more often human issues. Part and parcel of selling out proclaim the cool set. But what is the alternative. Congressman and Senators, raised in privledged homes, proving their love of this great country by trading favors and buying and selling souls. Do you really think they have seen the issues or problems in the country or world while hopping a private jet from their Tuesday-Thursday beltway sessions to their long weekends in their home state.

Now consider, the new devil himself, Bono. Not only raised in a country of strife and turmoil but a man who has traveled the world over at least a half dozen times. While no doubt staying in Ritz Carlton type hotels, I am sure he has seen more, done more and helped more than any congressman from Arkansas or Kansas. It urks me that he is " permitted " to play any charity gig or special event by the people in power yet he should not pretend to have a viable opinion or criticism or suggestion. Others complain he draws attention to himself and appears to simplify issues while on his soapbox. Well, if it was apparent to you that no one was listening, no one was caring and no one was acting, wouldn't you go to the highest mountain top and scream.
