Well damn it....I was not able to take my new camera to Guerneville last weekend. My ride who is normally an hour or two late was an hour early. So consequently, I was rushed with my final packing...Yes, I had my main pack prepared the night before, but the small stuff for my carry case was not itemized properly. Oh well, many of the same faces were present and the scenery was the same...
As is our usual plan, we made several stops along the way. Launitas Brewing in Petaluma has a very nice beer garden area in progress (They call it "Beer Sanctuary"...I have issues with "sanctuary" though). It is well worth a stop if you find yourself on the wrong side of town...
We also found a hippie-type party along the freeway that was centered around a coffee oasis that has outstanding coffee...Coffee being another item that was left behind, I took some from the hippies...A fortuitous event for all of us...
Stopped again at Hop Monk in Sebastopol. The food, beer and entertainment are still top knotch, but in these desperate times for revenue in California, the local constabulary seemed to be in much greater number around the parking area..so this cramped some styles...I was actually the designated driver from there...imagine that... 
...We made it through the gauntlet to arrive at the river by midnight...
The weather was hot but not as windy as last year. so we had clear hot air with no dust... ...Didn't even take tents this time, just slept out...so much easier. Since I have been dividing my time between two breweries of late, I was the only brewer with two brands of beer on tap...a great distinction that will ultimately go unnoticed... .
The BBQ was not quite as memorable as it was last year, many of the cookers opted not to arrive the night before and cook on site...and it showed. Lots of tasty meat, but most of it could have cooked a while longer...oh well...makes for strong jaws...
I did get to taste the beer made with 45 million year old yeast!!!!...Pete, the brewer at Stumptown who brewed a beer for the owners of the yeast was allowed to keep some to brew a batch for himself...with the caveat that he could not use the brand name "Fossil Fuel"..(catchy, huh??), so he calls his "Alternative Fuel"... ..It is a malty ale, with light hops and a slightly caramel apple tang to it from the yeast...Overall, a very nice beer that goes well with a BLT (extra bacon)... 
Everyone went home happy,,,Sunday was indeed a day of rest...
