Whew, this time of year is fun but I always have to pare down my overly burdensome "to-do" list in order to not feel like I'm slacking off...My Dia De Los Muertos altar is up and will be a work in progress as I find trinkets and candles to add over the next 2 weeks..I always put mine up a week before and keep it up for a week after...more fun that way and the work seems better rewarded...

Days at work will still be filled with busy work but the brewing will slow down enough to allow me to stay in the kitchen and experiment with new ingredients and recipes...or at least I plan to alter a few that I have tried before to make them my own...

I have two carved pumpkins on my front porch and hope to add one or two more as the ones there now begin to sag... Ahhh, the whole reminder of being mortal...you can sort of see your whole life in the details of sagging pumpkins... But the narrowing angle between life and death and re-birth is what this whole end of the year thing is about, so I decided long ago to embrace it rather than endure it...

Now all I need is to find a place to buy some bulk candy at decent prices to fill up my indecently large collection of candy dishes...ah yes...one more thing thing to scratch off the list...
