I absolutely love days off in the middle of the week Christmas was worth it this year just for that...I hate when it falls on a weekend or a day that I had planned to take off anyway...But the cookies are done..I've connected with some folks that I thought I would not be able to so easily...and the cat is awake. She just came in for a drink of water...must not be hungry, we didn't talk. She really has never gotten into Christmas since I found a three foot length of ribbon in her sand box a few years ago. Not that she had any ill effects...just that her closeted ribbon fetish was blown. I've been much more careful about the casual tossing of ribbon onto the floor since then. She has never forgiven me.

I am getting ready for a bit of a family (of all stripes) get together this weekend and so will be milling about the kitchen as well as going to work for the next few days...I love a warm kitchen. Join me, won't you? I have wine and cookies...
