After months of searching for better paying work, I've finally been offered a job from a friend of mine. It pays almost 3 times as much as I make now per hour, with more hours than I've been getting now and great potential of overtime. A HUGE financial step forward.
So that's the problem?
It's over 3,000 kilometers away, and the job is working on oil rigs. I've never even visited a place that far away, but it's a guaranteed job with wicked pay and a free place to stay until I can get my own place. Chances are, I'm gonna take it.
However, the whole idea scares the shit out of me.

Learn all you can about this rig and its operation. About the company you are working for. The drilling business is in the upswing of a massive boom. You can end up many different places in the world, and the dril companies are always on the lookout for people who can think. These people get promoted quickly.
Go for it, bud. Never look back.
