any smart computor people out there? there has to be!!
I have a Dell Inspiron E1505 and it has served me well and is still in great shape (physically, not pretty though!) and I think I could still get a lot of use out of it however.. I seem to be having hard drive issues... and I hear that the reason my battery hasnt worked forever even though it reads as charged (after being out of the computer for several hours and then the little battery indicator button being pushed) it wont stay on unless plugged in... I hear thats a silly thing dell does is make that part very fragile and it breaks often.
anyways back to the point! this thing keeps running out of memory... it is only 100G.... which is now pretty darn small!!! but I see on the dell website I can get a 1 TB hard drive for like $140!!!! that would be AWESOME would that solve all my problems? mostly this thing just runs out of room.. Im sure it needs a good virus scan and cleaning but it seems pretty good or would those no longer be a problem if I got a new hard drive?
the other problem is... I have NO idea how to put it in!! is it hard to do? my dads pretty good at comps, he might be able to but if not where can I have it done... how much?
basically Im trying to figure out how much it will cost to make this thing work better cuz I just cant afford to replace it!!

help me please?!

I hate Dell with a passion, for the same reason I hate Apple, shit never works properly. But basically, some good advice on here. Hard Drives are simple to change. You may want to defrag, you can burn a lot of unneccesarry space just by having files fragmented all over. 100gig is pretty huge, my desktop only has 160GB, but it depends on how much of what you are storing, 1TB is HUGE, and you can even get up to 3TB externals now, which is insane. Most laptops have a battery issue after a short time, my wife's is like that too.

Look at newegg.com to see what upgrades your computer can handle. And external hard drives are awesome.
