I don't even know where to start. Last night was nothing short of amazing. First I got to take the night off and miss the fallout of a Nascar race. Not having to deal with a bunch of rednecks is always a plus. Not having to deal with a bunch of rednecks because you are clear across town seeing your favorite band is a much bigger plus. The Dreaming has become somewhat of a religion for me. They are made up of Christopher Hall the ex vocalist of Stabbing Westward, Carlton Bost the ex guitarist of Deadsy, and Johnny Haro the ex drummer of Econoline Crush, as well as upstarts Brent Ashley on bass and Rich Jazmin on guitar. This was the 13th time I've seen them, and I still can't get enough.

Each time I see these guys, it always gets better. Something always happens to make the night memorable. Since I've seen them so many times, I'm no stranger to the band. Chris will usually come over to me and share the mic or even just stick stick it in my face a few times during their set, but tonight he totally surpassed that. At the start of Bullet, he came over to me and just handed me the mic. I could hardly believe it was happening. Even if I was only shouting "Hey!" a few times into it, it was still insanely cool. He even did it again at the end of the song. Their set was amazing, as usual, but it got better from there.

While I'm not really a fan of Linkin Park, Chester Bennington was also at the show and I got to meet and talk to him for a few minutes. He seemed pretty cool, but he was trying to keep a low profile so the visit was short. I just found it amusing that the most famous man in the building was just hanging out in the corner with just a couple people.

The best part of the night happened after the show. I wound up eating at IHOP with Chris, Carlton, and Rich. To not make this any longer than it needs to be, Stabbing Westward opened me up to music, and The Dreaming opened up even more doors. Eating at the same table with them and my friends was, well, amazing. I almost want to say it was euphoric, but I guess humbling would be a better term. They do create something that brings me great joy, but I can't really say I idolize them. Still, just knowing they are people just like myself made it so much better.

Overall a fucking great night. I'd say nothing will be able to top it, but I've said that before and something always does. I'll be looking forward to my next outing with the band.
