The fluctuation
between agony & ecstasy,
it's nothing new.
but it's over for me, for now,
I'm through.
and I was wrong when
I said bodies aren't
interchangeable:
almost any body will do
not for love
but to accomplish those feats
that bodies wish to accomplish.
this body's sweet
and finely constructed
he tastes like rain
at the lips.
rolls over to the side of his bed
and watches me,
wonderingly,
unzip,
he lets his mouth linger
at the nape
of my hip.

I say wait:
there's something I must
reassociate
we put on David Bowie
and as the night waxes
& wanes away,
put it on repeat
we turn it up loud,
we let it play.

and in the naked morning
of the next day,
I feel like
the best kind of criminal.
