Interesting website outlines the inherent security issues within Diebold systems electronic voting machines. Apparently, the machines use unpatched microsoft OS w/RAS software that is accessed in multiple ways: the official way, and several other back doors. Since the boxes use RAS, and transmit the votes using a modem and phone line, or by transferring a cartridge.

Respectfully may I suggest that the election was not a technological snafu but a reminder of the state of this nation and just how fucked up most Americans ideas are.
I feel that if we , the folks who don't support the ideas which are the mainstream, contrive a technological conspiracy obscures the real difficulty.
Americans are self centered, short sighted, bigoted , homophobic , and tend to simplistic solutions to complex problems.
I don't believe that voting machines affected this election , when I look at that map and see all that red I realize how disconnected from this country and it's ideology I am and I don't know how I fit in here.
The election left me feeling alienated.
I only offer impressions , I am not trying to be dogmatic or omniscient , I would appreciate any response to these comments, they are only my feelings
