A week later.. Weak clarifications

So the comment about Mac not being suitable for Rift.. And Xbox getting upgrades.. Oddly enough.. The hardware guy is talking about software and the software guy is talking about hardware.

I don't think there were that many people that misunderstood Palmer Luckey's comment about Mac and Rift.. But it does help that there's a weak clarification that he did actually mean Rift won't support Mac Developers. Blaming Apple as only part of the problem and not saying look Mac developers and basically everyone else that could make games for iOS and Mac, you don't deserve support right now because there's no customers for your game. Not while it would be expensive to create software support for Mac so that Rift could work well for any applications and help to generate interest in Mac for VR/gaming.

And Phil Spencer saying Xbox could have an upgrade plan in this generation is very vague.. When speaking to hardware people that can only mean hardware upgrades via the limited connectors on the box. There's no way that MS would allow or encourage us to void our warranties in order to make our Xbox One better than anyone else's.

Still.. The idea that one could connect an external graphics card to Xbox and improve its graphics performance instead of buying a new Xbox.. That would have been ideal for everyone. AMD has stated that they can create a much more powerful box about the size of Xbox AND they are trying to deliver expansion graphics cards for devices like ultra books. Xbox could have taken advantage of such a thing except that it doesn't have a high speed port on it. Back when it was announced it was unclear why MS would make a proprietary connector for Kinect when it has USB 3.0 ports.. It also wasn't clear why that port was so slow. Kinect could have had its own graphics card/processor which any newer model could have reversed the processor load.. Instead of Kinect using Xbox One's processor, a new model of the camera could have boosted Xbox One's graphics performance.

I wonder why that's still not the plan because when Microsoft announced that they would decouple the camera from console sales, it seemedI likely that they'd either open the port or presentpa newer even more robust camera.. Or at least concrete plans to support HoloLens. And that's off the books for Xbox One gamers since HoloLens is apparently going to be even more expensive than Rift.

I'm really not understanding why these VR units don't have a dedicated base station that connects to the console or PC.. I mean Any console or PC.

And more BS...

Hmmm. Bill Gates might investigate new Age of Empires. Responds with sass...

The studio is closed almost a decade ago bro.
