Normally there's not much to worry about. Even some EA games get pushed back for several months.. Reminded of EA's own SimCity... Yes it released to the public but it shouldn't have been. Being delayed.. But more importantly not heeding fan input.. Not for a year then released shit that didn't work.. Nearly shut the studio down.
But when you have a huge game like Mass Effect 4 the reaction to just about anything is panic. Delayed until 2017.. That's only a few months. Why sweat it?
After years of waiting... And pretty bad PR due to the last game releasing too early... And with PC upgrade plans basically on hold until the specs for the game are released.. I'm not ready to panic. Really I'm not even looking forward to the game at all if it is going to be rushed out. EA will make money on it long term based on DLC and hopefully expansions.
Instead.. Just another E3. This one will hopefully have something playable.
With a release date of March 2017 there's plenty of time for the team to show the game off this year.. To build up the hype machine after the heat has died down from games that are similar. Not too enthused with Ubisoft's the division.
Like there's no point in releasing mass effect this year when time can be spent adding more content to it... Unlike dumping the game then dropping DLC later. With that in mind I'm not panicking. But it has to be perfect right?
The longer a game is in development basically the more it costs to make it.
Even something like Mass Effect 4 though has to have some limit on what EA can afford before they are forced to ship it right? So as good as delays could be.. In the long run hard decisions will be made. So for now it just sucks to have nothing good to hear about it. Better to just block out all news in the meantime.
