So I've been thinking I might finally have Ark burning out and have been using this blog as a means of escape.
There's also Morgcules' Twitch Channel which helps to deflect my attention while I play. To the point where dividing my attention between playing, watching while I can and participating in chat meant holding the controller for any extended period of time was out.
Might be why we've been stuck on the beach at Frozen Tooth for ages getting nowhere. We've fortified the settlement and I've gotten a few more things done but over all the overhead required to just sit in a base, protect it, and try to plan expansions for the other 2 bases is difficult. I don't know what but taming creatures gets significantly harder due to that overhead because I don't know how to keep the tamed creatures alive.. and for that matter my base in good repair without taking the time to build a wall.. still half complete, and otherwise to section areas off. Its tedious work and I've gotten to 100 days + half-assing that type of settling down.
Still I've lost more creatures than I've tamed and I've more importantly lost several X plants which are the core of my bases defense system. My tamed creatures are a big part of the problems because we keep getting waves of Doeds which manage to creep into the base with impunity. Of course I know the critical danger of allowing them to roam inside my base.. I have other things I need to do than to spend whole days trying to kill them.
I have to turn the X plants off and taunt them into attacking me so that can incrementally damage them hopefully to the point of exhaustion OR I can kill them right then and there.
Two in particular have been thorns in my side. I killed one eventually have dealing with it boring into my side for days.. but the asshole that managed to ravage my X plants, like my most cherished Rex.. I finally downed and was like FINE.. you will be tamed. You will work off the damaged you've caused to my base.
It's like without TLTTC and Morgcules the 1th, its hard to deal with taming.. and naming tamed creatures and taking them seriously. I've basically stopped naming them and am treating them like work animals. It isn't what I wanted.
So without Morcules for the night.. she packed it in early.. and without sleep and an ability to really focus I used my blog. I mean that BitCoin shit and digital currency has been kicking around for a long time.
And it is kicking around because BitCoin seems to have been designed to fail before its tipping point and generate more billionaires in the process. That tipping point will get stalled off while enough of us are smart enough to see the risk and that it was a pyramid scheme with a peak far too high and the slopes are now frozen over.
Anyhow.. I had a dream which ended abruptly. Set in a restaurant the person who's eyes I was looking through was in a tense situation where an argument about I don't remember what had gotten a guy slaughtered by another one at the table.. my guy was hiding under the table flinching at every impact.... I was like waking up now.
Then I think I just flipped my phone for a sec and still decided sleep was a better plan then Ark.
The second dream was more interesting.. can remember if there was any other stuff before the lead up but a couple in a rural setting had lost a set of dogs and they were out walking.. probably inspired by a pair of stray cats, one orange Tabby looked like a house cat sitting in a half of a foot of freshly fallen snow. He didn't look cold or anything but he was just sitting there so I figured he was lost and probably would eventually get cold and want back in from whatever home was probably missing him.. so the couple was missing their dogs.
The rural setting was accentuated by an autumnal festival and people gathering in and around a sports field. Either the husband had on the spot decided to turn to social media to announce that they were searching for their lost pets or a woman had appeared from the crowd, a photographer, and offered to help them locate the pets. Like she's a photographer and for some reason the couple couldn't produce enough photos of the pets or whatever for the social media post about the lost animals.
They invited her home with them. I'm going to assume she helped them to put together the social media thing by going through the family's social media accounts (presumably if she was a known member of their community she already would have been through them). They might have moved in to the living room for games and then some Netflix when the husband, grateful of the help was like 'You're welcome to come back any time you like.' and she doesn't take it as a hint to leave.
Which then skips to the wife after a while saying she's tired (from being out at he festival or having spent whole day worrying about the lost dogs and them not having enough useable pictures at hand to use for the lost puppy project and whatever).. she'd be going off to bed.. which skips to her sitting in the entertainment unit wrapped in a sheet and a perplexed or shocked expression on her face while the husband is either back on the couch or having never left it, reclined with his hands behind his head watching TV. The woman is in the washroom with the shower going.
I could assume what happened.. but I've been in that position before kinda.. being the guest in the house.. after having finally been invited there. I mean I wasn't about to join a 3some or anything.. but I made my excuses to not leave right then (when my hosts were ready for bed) because it would have been a long trip back home, which was true.
On the other hand, had I handled that situation like an adult.. apparently there are other outcomes.. as a guest knowing both partners well is probably a good start, but do you tell your guests to leave and commit to it. I'm unashamedly a guest that doesn't know when to leave so I try to limit those types of situations when I'm told to leave or have to force my hosts to allow me to leave when I want.. the next day usually.
Yeah I've gotten better about it in the last 15 years.. but I've also not been a guest very often lately.
Just found it funny.. the wife's or girl friend's expression and trying to figure out exactly what would be going through her head. They have a son that at some point went to bed and he's upstairs and then there's this woman, naked, in their house I mean despite whatever they'd gotten up to there's the risk to the son I guess.
There's a movie called Sex Monster (1999) with the gorgeous Mariel Hemingway that I'm reminded off but that one had no kid to worry about. But she's the one with the insatiable appetite. And apparently she's still making movies. Hmmm.. Guess I'll be watching Lap Dance at some point this weekend (or now because Baidu has it and I can start streaming it right now while playing Ark).
Except Baidu doesn't play nice with Microsoft's Edge browser for downloading the movie.. It's happy to just stream it in the browser.. :/
"Accelerate the download does not support 64-bit browser, please try another browser." Can't tell if it legit doesn't support 64-bit or is being an ass. Must be because Chrome 48.0.2564.116 m is 64-bit and passed the download link to Baidu's desktop client without an issue. :/
