RomComs

Having already mentioned RomComs today (a cat themed meme on the Facebook meme scroll, about faces I’d make when people get gooey in my actual presence).. I found it cute to see you’d post about them too..

Like, yes appreciating RomComs might depend on how they could apply to your situation, (in real life love life? IRLLL?).. that’s a personal opening thing. Personally, getting personal with a human I like who likes enough of the same things I do (impossible) is probably a hopeless dream. Like how everyone is a train on another track and some people just can’t be diverted.. while others aren’t going anywhere interesting.. and some are hard coded to ignore that a relationship is an operation running on the same track.. not just closely aligned.

If you lose all faith in Romance that’s a bit deeper than not liking RomCom. I asked myself years ago if such a loss of faith (in love/romance/humanity etc) only applies to what I think of other people and no so much in regards to entertainment/fantasies.

Until my first relationship I loved RomComs, and I still do, it is a movie genre.

It doesn’t help when the actors themselves are douchey sacks of shit IRL such that the movie itself becomes baseless because you hate their living guts. The movie could be worthwhile if you can see the characters as people.. no the actors.

Post relationship, such as it was, I saw Silver Linings Playbook. Easily made me miss those things and feels and that person. but…………. not in the realm of possibility.

It just gets harder, scandal after scandal, to see some actors as anyone but themselves.

As far as romance IRL? bwahaha I’m just not cut out for that ish. My entire plan was to find someone to love.. end of story.. then life happens.. its catastrophes perpetrated against others and suffered through. Turns out helping everyone is also tiring and thankless.

Romance is for the lucky, and for the sane ones that can make it last. Not either.
