Again, and because it was kinda obvious that the difficulty to download pictures via a batch process was intentional.. and having seen the very rare instance of a set being uploaded to p2p sites.. The bigger issue: Who cares?
I mean not that SG made an effort to curb the practice, and not that I find it a nuisance that I can't either batch download or quickly create a playlist from a list of mrls for a favourite set.. but who would pirate sets in the first place?
Like even the photoviewer feature is very similar to the chrome extension iSlide that I used to view photosets in the first place. Now that it doesn't work anymore.. but that the gallery feature is the same.. the only thing that's missing is the batch download which now only save these little pictures like thumbnails. Hate thumbnails.
Membership by subscription isn't free but is the site losing out on that much business that it would make a difference to make it difficult to download a set versus downloading each picture, and uploading the entire set anyway?
Given that I'm in programming classes right now I really was looking forward to cracking open my WPF book, and seeing if I could make a Windows 8 App, or at this rate an Android background switcher. Would be even more nifty to get Mega.co.nz support but that circles back to the piracy issue. Or from my point of view, a non-issue. Do hope the new site attracts more new users than it alienates existing ones.
