I just do not understand!
Why play a game then complain you can't relate to the character because he's black? Rather why pay for a game without looking as far as the cover or reading the product so you know what you're getting into.
Why specify that you can't relate to being put into the shoes of a black person? (or a women, or a crazy motor cycle dragging around a Mexican mechanic) and omit the part about the game itself being so awesome you kept playing it? If it isn't.. just stop. Don't waste your time!
Honestly I actually played #SanAndreas for less than 5 minutes before deleting it from my Xbox for 2 main reasons, gameplay wasn't immediately compelling and the graphics were god awful. Doesn't make it a bad game. Doesn't mean I'm racist because I didn't want to sit in a black gangsters shoes for however long it would have taking to finish that game. It just means I didn't want to play it.. simple. There's no deeper meaning or reason necessary.
Am I willing to acknowledge I missed out on an arguably great experience? sure because the rest of the game sounds cool. I don't care.
The fact that Rockstar continues to set the bar so insanely cosmically high, that they can make billions of dollars on a console game, and not offer a PC version right away, speaks to their being a world class company that knows what they are doing. Do they need to care about individuals that don't like their game? For as petty reasons as some of us can come up with? No. Just don't play it and move on. But give them your money anyway. Because eventually Rockstar will make a Mass Effect like game with laser guns, space ships and space hookers. Until then I'll content myself with Mass Effect. #dreamingintechnicolor
