Finally got up and went out and saw Hanna and Fast Five.

Hanna was really impressive, probably more so having seen Tamara Drewe first.

Jessica Barden and Saoirse Ronan stopped everyone in the theater while they were on screen. Since those scenes didn't have the freight train soundtrack ruining them they were even more rich and enjoyable.

I wonder about that soundtrack, like Tron it only works in the film. I don't like either of them on my playlist.

I'm also wondering if other groups and DJs can score feature length films like Daft Punk and ChemBros.. Like DeadMau5. The one track, Raise your Weapon on 4x4=12, is really powerful, I'm wondering if some genius producer can incorporate it in a mainstream movie, elevate his talent to that level.

Also after going to IMDB I saw someone compare Hanna to Salt. I don't like Salt and didn't really see what they meant at first because Salt didn't put as much emphasis on Salt being built.

The odd part is that Hanna does that but her talents are more about training than being built (because she isn't). My only nitpick is that Ronan is too scrawny to have played a convincing super soldier, just like Jolie's Salt.

They both remind me of Orson Scott Card's Bean. But as much as that story, and Ender need to be adapted into movies, maybe it is easier to consider Hanna to have been one of the other survivors.

Fast Five was also really impressive but there were parts that seemed inappropriate.. glorifying the violence and criminal activity above and beyond what they needed to. But thankfully we aren't a police state and so can enjoy making and watching these kinds of movies. Oddly I find that this one and Tokyo Drift are more mature than the previous movies in the series but peeps on IMDB still don't like the series or this movie..

And as odd as it may sound.. Vin Diesel was such a softy in this movie.. I don't understand what's happened to him. Thankfully there's Dwayne Johnson in it.
