Saying that MS wants to make it an Impulse Buy is retarded. IF they are offering it cheap it's because the competition practically requires motion control for most of their games and MS is playing catch up as usual.
When NOTHING has been said about Natal being released to a MUCH bigger market that actually can make better use of the technology, PC, I have to wonder just how stupid Microsoft really is.
Firstly release an update to support the device by default for Windows 7. Bundle it with Windows 7. Duh.
Secondly, give software and game developers access to Natal. Make a logo program to certify Natal compatibility. Make a super PC version of Natal that includes two cameras (secondary for 3D image capture). Eventually like next year, I don't doubt that more companies will start offering IM with support for two cameras or a stereo optic camera so you can have 3D. Pity Natal wasn't designed that way to begin with.. but this is MS.. they have to put one foot forward or they would move both and fall down instead of jump to the next step.

Or a note/netbook that already has a webcam and you clip another one one. It's practically standard already where Natal could be licensed and built into logo'd products.
The benefit being skipping multi-touch. I'd rather not 'touch' my netbook's highly reflective fingerprint/smudge prone screen. If it understands whole body gestures and FACIAL gestures (expressions) then no touching would be necessary AND you get more depth for doing your gestures.
They realize broad penetration of the new device.. nay phasing out of controller based game play so as to leapfrog the competition for the casual demographic, would be impossible with a prohibitive price (anything over $99 especially in the current economic climate).
Scary thing is I'm already seeing this happen, again, in the PC space. Some people just don't like to mouse or type. Letting them gesture and talk to their PC will GREATLY benefit their interactions with their computers.
Regardless I doubt it will launch under $99 USD. Microsoft will market the shit out of it and charge an initial premium. Bundles will ensure broad adoption since people are always buying new consoles anyway to replace broken ones. When those bundles are sold at a premium but include games and NATAL, but no media remote or controllers.. MS in terms of hardware might net out. The added (shitty) games amounting to no difference at all to their bottom line.
