I can't remember the last time a show went from being utter shit, to not bad, to great, to almost spectacular, in the one episode.
In the first minutes of the episode I was cringing and nauseated by how forced and rough all the acting and action was.
Somehow within scant minutes it was like a half season had gone by and it felt comfortable. Even with so many characters you can feel how much presence they have on screen. There acting and actions are just so undramatic.. or maybe it's the lack of melodrama? It's been so long since a scifi show that needed to be self important while representing real people that aren't each the center of each scene... of their own little worlds.
It's just refreshing I guess.
As such, maybe they spoke too much too quickly. By the end of the premier (which oddly isn't a couple of hours), it seems like they've prepped more than enough action and story to easily run a full season.
There isn't the whole, wtf is going to happen next week (Stargate Universe), because it's unknowable, but because wow they DO have all kinds of things they can work with.
It's just so funny how I was like 0, -5, -2, 0, 5, 10 as the show went on. Pity it had to end so soon.
And there it is.. ALWAYS speak too soon. It's like a curse.
So, as I'm ridding high on how good the show was by the end, dumbass is favoring the wrong arm. Which after flubbing his lines earlier in the show (which I was attributing to jitters/nerves.. now I'm wondering if he's just not that great of an actor...)
