I saw my brother's house on Camp Street. Poor Paul and Anna, their side is much worse. The ceiling caved in on the top floor hallway, which is where Anna was keeping all of her best paintings. The closet up there is moldy, moldy, moldy, and she had a bunch of paintings in there, too. It will be a ton of work to clear out all the moldy drywall. I'm so glad I live where I do.
Although, there is a lot of damage right by me, too. Not flooding, we're too close to the river for that. But a lot of roofs ripped up, one house completely fell in on itself (right across the street from mine) and a lot of fires. Sucks to have your house make it through Katrina and then have it burn down while the city has no water.
I have to drive across the Ponchartrain to get to work for now. I knew it got foggy, but jesus! I never expected it to still be just as foggy at 3pm as it was at 7am! Nuts. A beautiful, bright sunny day, and then you hit the bridge and BAM, no visibility. But everyone still wants to drive 70 even though you can't even see the water. Geniuses.
This new dog has to go, soon. I cannot deal with puppies. Unfortunately, no rescue organizations are taking any more. I really would feel awful just dumping her where we found her, but I guess I could hope she would find her way home... ARG. She poops in the house. I am not in a mental state to constantly clean poo. I do that enough at work, I don't want to come home to poop and puppies.
My hands smell like bleach. I can't wait to get back to normal work, where we have the right equipment and I don't have to soak my hands in bleach for hours every day.
Good news? Hmm...well, the Whole Foods in Metairie is open! I got to go shopping! Woohoo!
Ok, Lando is driving me nuts, she wants to go for a walk.

There seems to be a bit of confusion in the animal-identifying world over hares and jackrabbits; some people seem to think they're the same thing, but jack-rabbits have those big, spoon-shaped ears and longer legs. ?? *shrugs* Whatever - it's a cool tattoo
All that Katrina stuff seems so unreal to us over here; we just can't really get to grips with it cause it's so far away.
