I have a swollen throat too, so I am super glad that its the weekend. I had some boozing planned, but I may take it quiet this weekend on account of the throat bug.

Last week was expensive for me. I bought the new lense and I have a flash gun and a few other things on there way to me from various parts of the world. I cant wait to try them out.

I am sure that I should have been born somewhere in the Mediteranian, where its warm all the time and the sea is clean. The cold weather is not for me. You should nail your landlords door shut and then turn the heating on to full.

Yeah money for tattoos... I'm just getting to the point of figuring out the designs I like/getting cash together etc for my first one. I think the July heatwave, actually most of the office have one, banished the remaining lingering doubt in my mind.

Our house was the only one in our street that made any sort of effort. We had hundreds of the little buggers begging for sweets because of it!

I used to do a lot of photography with a film SLR, and I would describe myself as a serious amature, photographer. You are welcome to look through my pics folder if you are interested. Most of the shots in the folders are taken with a cheap point and shoot digital camera, but the older B&W images used film cameras in 35mm and medium format.

I have tended to photograph landscapes and city scenes, but there are a couple of nudes, which I took in a studio using a range finder camera. That camera did not allow me to see through the lense, and I chopped off the models feet for that reason. I like the images, even with that mistake...

The new Canon 400D is a class act, which works very well. It was delivered last Thursday and I got my first chance to use it at a firewoks display last Saturday. I did not expect much, not being used to it, but some of the images turned out well. The Canon allows me get back into serious photography, which I have wanted to do for ages.

On a related note. I have an uncle in Thunder Bay and I can call him for 1 pence per minute using my telephone. I saw a link on SG ages ago about www.1899.com, which you use with an ordinary telephone. I don't call him enough and they have not charged me so far... I guess you know that you can call for free over the Internet with Skype, but I don't need a computer with the 1899 service, which is great for my technophobe uncle.

P.S. On your last journal entry. Yes I would go home if I was unhappy, but then again its not -40 in England

I feel the same way about my new city. Just remember why you left your home in the first place and you may have the answer. When I remember why I came, I'm always reminded of why I should stay.
