ow.
sisters of mercy show last night. kinda disappointing. the sound was horrible, the vocals were buried under the music and the guitarists weren't that good. the crowd didn't really seem that into it, and it showed. andrew eldritch looked kind of horrid, with his shaved head and neon yellow soccer jersey. and the rest of the band was probably less than half his age.
but we had fun afterwards. ended up picking up a couple stray death rock kids who had driven down from denver for the show. i've always hated driving to other cities for shows, then having absolutely nothing to do afterwards, so we felt kinda bad for them. we went out for a drink at the District, then over to a party at Jetta's. the kids turned out to be kinda pompous little pricks who knew next to nothing about the goth/industrial scene, but didn't let that get in the way of their arrogance. they finally drove back to denver around two in the morning i think after Jetta told them that if they weren't going to crash on her couch they had to leave so we could all go to bed.
too many shots of vodka. i need to track down the pictures that were taken at the party...
...
in other news, i'll be going to texas for a few days to visit my family and some friends. ft. worth for a couple days, then down to austin on the weekend. should be fun.
...
i'll be taking my paintings down from the bar when i get back. one of my friends offered to hang them at the coffeeshop he works at. from what i've seen from other friends who have shown there, they tend to sell more art than where i'm currently showing, so this should be a good thing.
