Ok, it hasn't been an eventful couple of days, but they were days spent thinking about a lot of stuff in my life. I have had the interview that I just finished on my mind for a while. It is an interview for a position on a touring show that is currently in Japan. I have two friends that are already on the show and suggested that I apply for the position, which was encouraging, but they are currently in Tokyo and I have a slight worry about that whole nuclear/ earthquake/ tsunami thing. I felt like the interview went well, but I feel like I don't interview for management positions very well as I haven't interviewed for many of them. It's also tough that I know another friend is applying for the same position, but we both just learned that they may have an opening for 2 people which would be awesome if we could BOTH get positions. smile

Anyway, the move of the show from Jonesboro, AR to College Station, TX was a little rough. The drive was 560 miles and due to some union contracts on the show if the jump is over 550 miles they need to fly us or charter a sleeper / tour bus. I've seen way more flights than I have buses for this type of trip and they don't charter the plane, so this time we had to take a bus to Memphis, TN, then a flight to Houston, TX and then a bus to College Station, TX.

First, we almost had a problem getting out of Jonesboro, AR because we had massive/ severe storms all week and the area was flooding, which closed several of the highways out of town. Now, Memphis is a great place to hang out if you're downtown / Beale Street area and I had a chance to go with a couple people to that area, but I opted instead for a laid back night with a HUGE dinner and as it turns out a couple people that crept under my skin. I'm glad I didn't go to downtown though because it turned into a drunken stupor fest and people drank to excess and got sick and I wasn't in the mood for that.

Memphis airport held a little emotional grenade for me this time. The last time I went through that airport I said goodbye to my most recent girlfriend, who is now an EX. We didn't know when we would see each other again because she was looking to settle down in NJ and I was going to keep touring. Eventually, we split ways after I went to visit for Valentine's day and by St. Patrick's day, I think we both accepted that it wasn't developing into something that we needed to keep together. Of course, walking into the airport and having those not quite resolved feelings come up was a little unexpected, but then it blended with the realization that I have been interviewing for touring jobs or jobs that would have me working outside the country, so it would have made the previous relationship even tougher. However, I haven't landed any of the jobs, yet, so I'm still here........and single.......and not sure if looking or dating is really the way to go considering that I'm looking at leaving this touring job and going somewhere else......UGH!!

Ok, that's a pretty long blog and it about sums up my current bit of frustration
