Early this week I was at a movie and my car was gotten into...not exactly broken into, since nothing was damaged at all...but maybe I just forgot to lock it. Anyway, at the time, the only things gone were a bag of trash (one of those little car bags you put trash into) and a stuffed, red, emergency road kit that I've had for 5 years and never even had to open.

Well, turns out today I noticed something else missing: my backpack. Granted, there was nothing really in my backpack, and I don't even know why I had it in my car. I had been using it to tote my laptop around, but have since gotten a better-padded leather bag for it.

But...the one item that was in the backpack must have been my small flipfolder of cds. Now, in my car there's not one original cd, they're all copies and mixes. But this little flipfolder is my work travel one. It has a few floppies, boot disks, and various mp3 discs and my tools...nothing I can't replace easily. But I guess it also still had a number of my favorite DVDs...Underworld, Matrix, Enemy of the State, Harry Potter (I've not lost BOTH of them..grrr), Heat, and a few others...

Talk about ruining the mood of my day. Blah. I think it's time to invest in a DVD recorder and start making backups of DVDs that I take places...just like all my copied cds in my car...

addendum: Imagine my surprise when I open a drawer and inside are all my "missing" DVDs and my software flipfolder. Whew! However, my backpack did get swiped from my car....oddly enough...not a thing was in it other than the outer decor which gets put on over the years as it travels with me. Oh well...
