girthman cossey tagged me to do the '20 interesting things' list. so here's my attempt.
1. i just got an email telling me that i was put on the list for the danzig show. tonight. 4 hours away. so obviously i can't go and that freekin blows.
2. right now i am cooking pork chops w/ sourkraut. cooking is a hobby of mine. my speciality? twice baked potatoes.
3. if i could meet any three people, alive or dead: yukio mishima, maynard james keenan, ernest hemingway.
4. my favorite album of all time: "aenema" by tool. another favorite: "deloused in the comatorium" by the mars volta.
5. when i lived in RVA, i had my own burlesque show. i wrote it, choreographed it, and performed in it. it was badass and we had a lot of success.
6. when i was 7, back in '88, george bush sr. came and hung out at my grandma's house with me and my entire family for the afternoon. he was doing a promotional, "let's visit the normal american family" thing. we were on national commercials.
7. when i was 17, i got my ass beaten by a boyfriend. he broke my ribs 2 weeks before prom. he served only 2 months in jail.
8. i smoke pot every day, yo.
9. last night i was moved to tears reading book 9 of "paradise lost."
10. i am currently reading "paradise lost" by Milton and "the fall" by Camus.
11. i am working on my master's degree in literature. after that, the goal is a phD. i want to be a professor.
12. i have been to: england, france, germany, italy, holland, greece, austria, switzerland, canada, and costa rica. while in amsterdam, i ate mushrooms and consequently spent most of my time in the city holed up in my hotel room. being in public in a foreign city did not seem an option.
13. my father died suddenly when i was 16. this has been the defining moment of my life.
14. i am a miser. this is why i've managed to travel so extensively.
15. in my relaxed state, or when i sleep, i clinch my jaw shut. this had resulted in a painful case of TNJ--an affliction of the jaw. i wonder what this constant clinching says about the state of my subconscious mind.
16. i live with my boyfriend, one beautiful chihuahua, and one gorgeous boston terrier.
17. i spend the vast majority of my time doing schoolwork.
18. i am a belly dancer.
19. as a teenager, i was obsessed with tori amos. i still know all the words to every song of her first four albums.
20. suddenly, my stomach hurts. i think it was that cigarette.

I admire the miser trait. If I have money, and it looks like its not running out next week, Ill set fire to it, spend it like five drunk sailors. I think its because Im a fatalist, I truly believe its all going to hell, and soon
