Our homework for this week from @missy and @rambo was to talk about our first jobs. My very first serious job lasted a grand total of 2 weeks. I'm sure there is some sort of record for that.
It had all the makings of a really nice opportunity, small family run laser cutting business. I was to set the machines and handle the design.
Anyway, when I arrived to my first day, the owner presented me with a surprise. My working hours would be Monday to Sunday (warning bells) but being my first job I thought this was somehow alright.
The second warning bell came when the staff told me they could not stand the owner, they all hated him, with good reason. He would sit in his office with a conveniently positioned mirror so that he could make sure I was constantly working. Checking your cellphone was forbidden. And to cut a long story short, I put up with 2 weeks of it and on the Sunday night he said "See you tomorrow" and I said "No" and I quit.
