4 am. I still haven't slept. I need to be up in two hours.
I just watched Gonzo for the first time. It is a great insomnia movie. His tidal wave speech takes on a beautiful, new significance when watched during the most silent part of the night. I can't even hear traffic on the parkway. In about half an hour the traffic will pick up, and I will be able to hear the gentle woosh of cars in the distance. I have a fantastic view from my apartment. The headlights on the parkway twinkle as they leave the city.
In this peaceful moment, I don't dread the day that is coming. I don't regret my sleepless night. It is just a beautiful moment.
I will try to close my eyes for a bit, hope for a pleasant day, and pray for a blissful rest.
If that doesn't work, I will take a bath.
