The crew: Space cowboys in a futuristic Old West.
And the ship's pilot, named Wash, is playing with dinosaur toys, a T-Rex in one hand and a stegosaurus in the other.
They are talking.
Stegosaurus: Yes... this is a fertile land, and we will thrive. We will rule over all this land, and we will call it... 'This Land'.
T-Rex: I think we should call it 'your grave'.
Stegosaurus: Ah. Curse your sudden but inevitable betrayal.
T-Rex: Hahaha. Mine is an evil laugh. Now, die!
And thus, my date introduced me to Firefly, a TV series which only aired 10 episodes on FOX, the other 3 are on the cult hit DVD set.
It is being adapted as a movie named Serenity, after the name of the spaceship in the series. I don't watch TV so I'd never even heard of this show, but we watched the pilot and Episode 1 at
her place on DVD. I can't wait to see the rest of the series, I have no idea why they cancelled it, it's hilarious and the
storyline works, and the characters are great, especially, Mal the captain of the ship.
