Today was a good day, even though I did nothing but do chores for my family members. Every Friday I take Nani (my grandfather) out grocery shopping. He's one of those old-school North Philly Italians who never learned to drive because, "What the hell do I need a car for when I've got SEPTA to take me everywhere I want to go?"
I helped a little old lady bag her groceries - unsolicited - and when I was done she turned to me and said, "What is your name? I'm one of the sisters at St. Somethingorother and I want to add you to our prayer list for today."
"So I got that going for me." - to quote Caddyshack.
Then I helped my mother clean the ENTIRE house for a party she's throwing for my father's practice on Sunday. I got caught out in the rain while scrubbing a canvas canopy clean - and you know, there comes a point when you get so wet from the rain that you just can't get any wetter - and then things don't seem so bad. It was a warm, summer rain, and I like being outside.....so fuck it. I had fun.
It's gonna be a busy weekend. Three parties in two days. Huzzah!

Rob and Reg had some kind words to say about you, as did my roomie Ben and ole Delbert. Remind me to tell you the Drunken Ben stories when we go out again...the guy pulled some classic shit. It involved head trauma, pain, and a wasted Sunday afternoon. I actually went BACK to Robs today and finished off the food as well as a few beers. We killed the keg last night as well as half of the booze....nice.
