The week from hell is over...thank God. I spent most of this weekend sleeping. I'm definately getting old....but I think a week of only 3 hrs of sleep would do just about anybody in.
Though I did take my grandfather out on Sunday (Father's day....awwwww) to play Bocce. He hasn't played in 60 years - and he's one of those old-school Italians so he played it every day of his life (practically) in his hometown. I gotta say, the old man still has it. We won our game because of this amazing shot of his - he placed his ball right next to the polena. Perfect.
The proposal went well. I only had to defend myself from one asshole who wasn't even in my department. I think I may do a bit more research on the topic (pedagogy vs. demogoguery) and turn it into an article. We'll see.
For now, I'm packing to leave for the shore for the rest of the week. I'll be down in Rehoboth (sp?) DE, for some R&R and more than a few drunken escapades. I love the Deleware beaches when compared to the alternatives: NJ beaches. DE beaches are less crowded and more verdant. It's just so much more relaxing there.

A few of us went out one day during happy hour, and this one girl wanted to go to Coyote Ugly 'just because'. I mean, its 6pm...there's no one in there (including hot ladies working the bar) and they have three things on tap. Subsequently, said tap lines havent been cleaned, giving all three beers a very crappy taste. Add to that, serving us in plastic cups. Oi vey....thankfully, I convinced the kids to head over to St. Jacks. they had Victory's Golden Monkey on tap. Niiiice.
Moved a friend from NM to Boulder a few years back. Nice place...had fun. Drank a lot of Fat Tire. Tasty little beverage, I must say.
Just make sure you make it to the Dogfish Head Brewpub...they have a brewery on-site, not to mention a distillery. some BAD ASS rum....
