I'm so sick of Philly radio - where the hell did all the good stations go? If it wasn't for NPR...I don't think I'd ever use the radio in my car. I love WXPN, don't get me wrong, but sometimes....I just don't wanna listen to Celtic music for an hour, you know?
Remember when 103.9 was WDRE and it didn't suck? *sigh*
I wish someone would make my radio dream come to fruition: A station that focuses on the time when "alternative" really WAS alternative. Remember Camper Van Beethoven? Television? Siouxsie & the Banshees? Robyn Hitchcock? (okay, nevermind, he always sucked) The Feelies? PJ Harvey? The Pixies? The Church? Almost anyone signed to IRS or SST or Sub Pop or Santa Cruz?
Do the greed-heads at Clear-channel really think that Creed and Hoobastank and Finger Eleven are REALLY that good?
After 5 minutes of listening to the radio - I swear I've swallowed my tongue and am foaming at the mouth.
Maybe I'm just getting old. There's great stuff out there, but it's so hard to find it nowadays. Has anyone heard Interpol on the radio? How about the Doves? See - that's what I mean.
Maybe the Suicide Girls need to start streaming music. Every member gets 50 megs to upload their own playlist. And random sets will get broadcast on the radio. Of course....that means they'll have to own a radio station in each major market...but screw it! This is for the future of radio!

Now it is just heavy rotation of all the lobotomized baseball hat and chino crowd idea of what's edgy or supposedly cool. I ended up having to buy a new radio for the kitchen at work after I recently put the other one into little pieces with a well-aimed saute pan.....
Clear channel must die.
