my new year's resolution is to stop smoking...
stop inhaling and start talking bout this world
and what has gone wrong in it...why we sit here and deny that we have sucked ourselves dry.
too concerned with the materialistic
we sit in our created worlds
drown out the screaming hate in reality,
money gives us what we need to keep our sanity..
as the machine is turning with every dollar
plowing our dreams and promising a false tomorrow
in my heart, all my life I've seen this decay seep into the hearts of everyone
the purpose of this capitalism is a way to keep us from the truth
we've chosen to pull the blinds over our eyes
and watch the world through bloodshot eyes..
so wake up I know you'll understand...
that empty feeling extended itself into those children raised on tv..computers..these machines
find your heart people why waste it on falsity
reality you won't escape me
we've got to find truth...cause we forgot the strength in our own hearts ..
