I don't understand why people don't acknowledge same sex marriage as a marriage. As a military member, if my wife wants to come on base and go to the PX, what is the difference between having a husband or a wife? I just can't understand the archaic thought process that a marriage has to be a man and a woman. Love is blind, and anyone (man and woman, man and man, or woman and woman) should be able to have the same legal benefits of being married. I know as a society we are slowly getting there, but it still is frustrating to me.

I know it's frustrating that some folks still cling to archaic notions of marriage, but there has been breathtaking progress over the past decade. I never would have guessed that we could have gotten to where we are now so quickly. The remaining strong opposition is among the folks who are now in old age, so it definitely is just a matter of time.
