Ouch, my face hurts today! frown
Surgery was fine, quick and uncomplicated. No bruising or bleeding. Felt well enough to moderate the Fahrenheit 9/11 teleconference w/ Michael Moore last night.

I am generally NOT that political, but the thought of Bush being re-elected just plain SCARES me! eeek The discussion last night raised some really good points, on which I won't elaborate here...

I think I am...

Nothing quite like living along. I went from my parent's house to living alone for 5 years or so. This was the first year I actually decided to share a place, for monetary reasons. It's just not worth it. Even if it's your best friend (and my roomie is one of my best), it's so much better to live alone.

Yes, band. I play guitar and sing in a punk band called the Rules of Attraction. Nothing serious, just playing some shows, making an occasional record, having fun. Not going to stand in the way of my real career choice: science geek. There's some pictures in my profile of us playing.

surgery?

anything you'd care to elaborate on?

So the weekend has ended... frown

To sum it up:

Friday: painful, tedious train ride to DC. Painful and tedious b/c I had food popisoning and therefore was in the bathroom every 20 minutes. Train bathrooms=icky! Stayed home Friday night due to same illness. Spent quality time w/ kitties.

Saturday: afternoon wedding, stretched into the wee hours of the a.m. Lovely, not at all pretentious, which...

My eyes are blind but I can see
The snowflakes glisten on the tree
The sun no longer sets me free
I feel there's no place freezing me

Let the winter sun shine on
Let me feel the frost of dawn
Fill my dreams with flakes of snow
Soon I'll feel the chilling glow

sorry - not an original poem whatever

I don't feel very well today. frown

Last night started out fun with Happy Hour at Doc's, followed by dinner at Spice w/ colleagues, but afterwards I started to feel sick so I just went home. (Maybe it was the raw salmon appetizer?) I didn't throw up though, which is good b/c I hate to throw up more than ANYTHING in the world!

Today I woke...

Frustrating day at work...
In honor of that, and for MissLucy's benefit wink, I bring you the following:

Take stuff from work.
It's the best way to feel better about your job.
Never buy pens or pencils or paper, take them from work.
Rubber bands, paper clips, memo pads, staplers
Take them from work.

It's the best way to feel better about your low...

I try not to take my work home with me, but that's in another sense. In one way, don't take shit from your work. In another way, take all the shit you can from your work. wink

So, in those relationships whose personalities reflect your father's--were they successful relationships? And how is your relationship with your father? Freud would have a field day with this subject, but he's dead and buried.

I can't compare the similarities of my ex-girlfriends' personalities with that of my mother's because their lives are so vastly different. However, the similarities that may be present are mainly generalizations that exist among many people. Moreover, there are probably more similar personalities between my ex-girlfriends than with them and my mother. If my mother was raised in the U.S. then someone could make a better argument that my ex-girlfriend's personalities are very similar to my mother's, but since my mother was raised in a different culture there are too many other factors to consider.

In terms of appearance, I've never had an asian girlfriend. They don't attract me as much as girls from other ethnicities.

Nice to meet you last night - I take stuff from work all the time, but its more fun to take someone to work and do naughty things all over other people's desks...

This question came up among a few friends yesterday, which was the Summer Solstice:

Is it true that you can stand an egg on end during the Spring Equinox? Here's what I came up with:

"The answer is YES. However, you can stand an egg on end, with a large amount of patience, on any day of the year. This myth seems to pop up...

england were up 1-0, becks missed the penalty which would've put england up 2-0 and left france with no chance to come back.....france scores 2 goals in the final 5 minutes. france wins 2:1
