It's Sunday morning and I am coming down to the home stretch of my family visit. It has been a lovely visit, in spite of the antics of two anst-ridden adolescent boys who used to be my sweet little nephews... and the rantings of my very Republican father and his best friend.
I have pink glitter nail polish on my finger- and toenails, courtesy of my 7-year-old niece. She looks like a miniature Reese Witherspoon with a touch of Cameron Diaz. Hard to believe she's related to me. She has new hearing aids, one pair is clear with multi-colored glitter, the other has pink swirls. Her world is all about girlie stuff; in a word, PINK! Her classmates flock to her like moths to a flame. Several of her friends have feigned hearing loss to their parents because THEY want glitter hearing aids!!! Interesting how two siblings (she and her older brother) can approach their disability so differently...

So late tonight I return to my apartment in midtown, exactly four blocks from the chaotic hell of the RNC. It should be a fun week. And by fun I mean annoying.
Anyone care to offer me refuge from the fires of RNC hell?
