Hard to believe the week's half over!
This week's craziness:

Monday, after my dentist's appt, I went on a Mission: to replace my favorite bra. Bought at Target, I have it in four colors and the white one has holes in it. (Sadly, the holes were NOT created via passionate ripping off of said undergarment...)

So I went to two Targets, neither had the style. In fact, not only was the style gonme, but there were only TWO bras in the ENTIRE stock of both stores that were my size!!! (I bought them both) Yet they had literally HUNDREDS of size 40B bras. So if you, or someone you know, wears size 40B, Target is the place for you. MY size (34D), on the other hand, is nearly non-existent. Many styles do not even come in my size, or if they do, the store only gets one or two of them. I will spare you the ranting about the other products my mission included, which are no longer being made... frown

While in the second Target, there was a power outage. Since it is right next to Washington National Airport, or course everyone FREAKED out, screaming about terrorists, running amok... C'mon, peeps, it's like 105 degrees outside, dontcha think it's just a blown generator or somethin'? (It WAS.)

Arrived in NYC's Penn Station Monday p.m., lugging an overnighter, laptop case and large purse/briefcase, only to find that the escalators were off. Upon climbing the stairs to 7th Ave, yours truly who was NOT named Grace for a VERY good reason, proceeds to trip (yes, going UP the stairs, doh!) and fall, scraping a knee AND breaking a toe. OUCH!!! An emaciated derelict witnessed my tumble and began screaming, "HELP! POLICE!" over and over again. He would NOT shut up! I was MORTIFIED! So a cop arrives as I'm getting myself together, gathering my things and proceeding up the steps. He offers to turn on the escalator (a bit late for that, now, ain't it?) then lecherously laments that he was hoping I would need to be resuscitated. I am filled with a brief moment of revulsion and self-doubt, WHAT AM I GETTING MYSELF INTO by MOVING HERE??!!!

On the way to my hotel (the grand and fabulous le Marquis, my new fave!) I realized that my foot was all sticky. Turns out not only had I broken the BONE in my toe, but the SKIN as well, so I now had what seemed like the bloody (literally) Grand Canyon between my 4th little toe and my foot, I was afraid my toe would FALL OFF!!! eeek

Thus Monday night was sleepless. frown

Tuesday was much better, my performance review went well, I was given "Exceeds Expectations" across the board from my manager. biggrin
If only I could get marks like that in my PERSONAL life!!! whatever

Then I got the keys for my new apartment!!! Yay!!!! And hung out on my new roof (w/ my new roommate, Troy), which has a STELLAR view of the Vampire State Building (it's like 2 blocks away). biggrin biggrin biggrin

Then went to my new haunt, Volcano, where I met the lovely and talented waitresses Veronica and Beth, whose marketing company works with SG! And she was once serenaded by Peter Criss himself, who sang, you guessed it, "Beth" to her... how cool is THAT??!!
Also met a new neighbor, Kevin (cute AND straight wink) who lives downstairs. In all of this fun madness, I missed my 10:00 train. Rather than go back to my new place, I decided just to hang out in Penn Station and wait for the 2:45. I had to be back in DC for an 8:00 am dr's appt...

Now, the train station is NOT my favorite place to hang out in the wee hours of the morning! eeek But the manager was quite paternal and fended off a few weirdos for me. (Did I really dose off only to wake up with some guy drawing the veins on my arm, or was it just a dream?!) shocked

Sleeping on the train is challenging at best... Then we got stuck behind a MARC train w/ engine trouble and I got into DC at 7:30, with just enough time to get to the dr. Almost 5 LOOOONG hours on the train. Yuck.

Needless to say, I slept most of today! biggrin

I am SO looking forward to just chilling the rest of this week, and also my trip to SAN FRANCISCO!!! where I will see my delightful nieces, lovely sisses, and perhaps a certain bald musician???! wink

thanks for writing.
I'm listening to the track on the shitty computer speakers now and it's still making me smile.

the best part today was tuesday's Zambian session overlapping into the Kenyan session and hearing them talk and talk and talk and compare notes.

saw the remnants of my rampage last night, now perfectly flat...heart sunk. oh well.

welcome to here. smile
