So its no secret to anyone in my life that I want to do a complete career change and become a tattoo artist. I work at a 8-5 office job and have been for 13 yrs. I'm tired of it and really really want the change.
I have been brushing up on my drawing skills. Don't have any connections to any local artists. But I am full of hope my time will come... There is a tattoo convention in Oct. I'm hoping I can network a bit.
The reason for this post is over the weekend, I was showing my aunt from out of town some of my drawings and happened to pull out a pic of Betty Page that I want tattooed on my arm. I soooo want, among at least 12 or more tattoos to adorn my body, but it will cost me quite a bit of moola! So I wait... My mother took a look at that picture and told me she would be ashamed to be seen with me if I got (a half-naked or naked lady) on my arm.
I am totally hetero..but I LOVE women's bodies they are beautiful! We are you know!!!
What you need to realize is she is my idol! So much of what my mother stands for/is - is why I am who I am. I am heart broken that she would feel that way. I know she has old fashioned ideals when it comes to tattooing, but to say that to me... We are VERY VERY close. And I am heart-broken.
