I have been way busy this week. Remember when we used to say "way" all the time? Like "way cool"...

Anyway (see?!)... No more nightmares, although I have still not verified the safety of my niece as my sister has been incommunicado, apparently in Tahoe w/ kiddies and new bf. But no news is good news, right? Right?

I haven't had any alcohol since Sunday...

I had a chillingly terrifying nightmare last night. It has stuck with me all day. I am still quite upset by it.

Dream synopsis:
I was watching one of my beloved nieces, Marly. She's five. She wanted to go to the mall. Of course I took her there. Once there, she wanted to go to Micky D's to eat. Of course I took her there....

Another crazy Monday. After such a nice weekend, it's so hard to go back to work!

I couldn't sleep last night, then I had to get up early for a conference that was cancelled literally at the last minute. But since I was already there, at least I was able to meet with a couple of the docs. But then I ran into a glitch...

Why you have to go do something like that. I like redheads.

FUNFUNFUN!!! biggrin
stellartrane's party was awesome last night, as was the Atomic Grind Show. The BEST part was backing up off the Henry Hudson to avoid some wicked traffic at 4 a.m. (I'm such a nerd...) Heehee, I love driving in the city! Except those tunnel delays...
More fun tonight at Otto's...
So far I've survived half of this weekend w/o a smoke. Even though...

So I quit smoking.
Just like that.
I think it's the heat, humidity, and my desire to start exercising again, combined with my allergies, that made me not want to put anything into my lungs or sinuses. Except for air. We'll see how it goes...

I also quit drinking. And having sex.

So how did the term "cold turkey" get started?

You are wise! I do try to be mindful of the "little things," but having a stash in reserve... GENIUS!

I keep telling myself that I'll quit smoking. First I said I'd quit when I graduated high school... Then I said I'd quit when I graduated college. Right now I'm saying that I'll quit when I hit 30... But I just dunno... I like smoking, damnit! Maybe if I could segue into cigars or something... You know, cause oral cancer sounds preferable to lung cancer. wink
holliday:
Pfffft...with cigarettes as cheap as they are down here...I'm NEVER quitting!

Although...it looks like I quit sex...(or better, i like how whosyourlibra said it, sex gave up on me)...But drinking...never the drinking...

I probably drink and smoke more now than ever...if that was fucking possible?!

I am still cogitating about A Home at the End of the World (based on a Michael Cunningham novel), the indie film I saw last night with my gay roommates, who wanted to see it b/c of the Colin Farrell penis controversy. We decided that the book must be really good so now we have started our own little book group. Guess what our first...

I brought it up to my manager yesterday to say something to our boss. Either to just make him aware of everything that is going on, or call a staff meeting and explain to EVERYONE why it's going on. I originally wanted a staff meeting but some of the issues are too personal and I didnt know if it was appropriate to bring up infront of everyone else. The best friend has a child with the owners brother..(whom the brother wants nothing to do with and denies its his) so....everyone feels sorry for her. She also has a child with a man who is currently in jail for drug dealing. But putting all that aside, it has become ridiculously unfair treatement and I cant tolerate it much longer. So...i had to say something. It's a lot of drama that I wanted to keep to a minimum because somehow I know it will come back to me and frankly I know the nasty things these girls can do to someone who gets in the way of letting them to whatever they want.

I got fired for no fucking reason at 1:30pm Thursday while sitting at home cutting their fucking dailies!

Paid me 500 though.

Today is my sister's birthday. It ia also my roommate's birthday. Therefore I have had cake for breakfast AND for lunch. (It's the North Beach diet! wink) Working on the hattrick: cake for dinner, too.
My tummy hurts! frown

Peanut Butter and Co.
240 Sullivan Street (Bleeker/W 3rd)

Brilliant!!! Try the Elvis with bacon. It'll rock your mouth! biggrin (Note to self: Move into their delivery area.)

Last night I went to Otto (Pizza) for dinner then to Otto's (Shrunken Head) for beers. Same basic name, yet they couldn't be more different: Otto has over 700 selections, all from Italy, on their wine list. Otto's...

Flat tire. Ugh. In the rain. Coming off the FDR. Ugh. mad (I hit a pothole the size of a mattress, no avoiding it, and whoosh, flat as a pancake. There is a slash in the tire as if it'd been knifed... weird.) And the timing sucked, I had dinner plans w/ a friend from out of town. So I decided to just park the car...

thanks. the apple really has nothing to do with sin at all, actually. there's nothing biblical about the scene, really. as a matter of fact, it is a rule at last rites (where i got the tattoos done) that no christian imagery can be done at all.

what the apple does represent, however, is the abudance and fertility that the opposite scene lacks. the apple is often considered magic and life.

i love the blue wind, too. if you look closely, you'll see that it blows into the light scene, only it turns yellow and red.

neat stuff, really. ymonster did an amazing job of making my words into pictures and then making the pictures absolutely stunning.
