i wrote this about a month ago. just thought i'd share.

The One Little Cloud in the Sky

I wake up and see the sun.
There's one little cloud in the sky.
And though the sun shines so bright,
I see the cloud as hideous and disgusting.
As I try to ignore the single cloud in the sky,
Thoughts of envy and resentfullness enter my head.
I should presume that the cloud will soon be
blown away in the wind, but skepticism keeps me
fearful that the obscurity above shall linger.
It floats high above, looking down on me,
And I somehow feel subordinate to the fog.
Though I'm certain it will be luminous all day,
The one little cloud in the sky remains.
