"In Thee Abyss Of The Night"
The fog lays heavy over this sleeping city, the night air is eerie and silent.
It starts to mist & I can hear the storm quickly rolling in from the distance. The mist turns into a barrage of heavy raindrops & the tempest makes her presence known, as she shakes her furious fist of thunder & lightning cuts the sky like a blade.
Without mercy she shakes the trees...

They fall almost as thick as the rain & flutter down the streets like unsure footsteps, far from their lover who has unwillingly surrendered them into the abyss of the wind.
I stand outside & let the strong winds flow violently through my hair, whips against my cold wet face.
I get lost in the moment.
Then almost immediately the wind comes to a halting stop as does the rain & I stand in the eye of the tempest, the center, the heart, & I realize we are one of the same.
Just like the ocean our surface is fierce and unpredictable, but to those who without fear venture a little further, to those who dive a little deeper, they will find it silent, calm and beautiful beneath the waves.
Quite an oxymoron to what is projected at first glance. Just as a book, you will never know its contents by looking at the cover, as you will never understand me, nature, nor yourself, unless you dare to look deeper.
Silence your voice, close your ears and open your soul & realize that all hearts beat as one in the rhythm of life
I blink and the hours have wasted away like minutes The tempest has long passed. Now the clouds begin to dissipate. I gaze to the east to find the sun rising up over the valley with its beautiful promise of a brand new day.
