I agree whole heartedly with your comments on this subject. I also was a victim of rape as odd as that may be coming from a man but it is no laughing matter.

I'm very late in commenting on this, but I totally agree. I avoid rape jokes at all cost now, as I understand the triggering effect they can have. A few years ago, I admit that as a part of having a generally cheeky sense of humor, some of my jokes could hint at something close to rape jokes, but I have since gained more knowledge and understanding, and I want to go back in time and slap myself. Nowadays, I protest against such jokes, just like I protest against racism, sexism, homophobia, etc.
