I finished the final index (chapter) of teh first half of my second book today.
'It feels good' is the short blog.
My Twitch streaming has kept the fourth draft of Boxrunner going so progress continues apace there too but getting to half way through my second book is really important.
Just that there will now be less ahead of me than there is behind me is a big feeling and a big motivator and that, really, is what it's about.
Finishing novels in the 100,000 to 150,000 word range when a regular job pays the bills is a big project so momentum and motivation are key - whatever keeps you writing. For me, outlining the novel means I know where those big markers are - One quarter, One third... There's something about using a fraction that makes it feel like you've done more than the same as a percentage. 🤷♂️
Most important of all though is that I'm enjoying the story and I can't wait for the finale.
