"I'd love to go back to the way we played as kids, but things change, and thats just the way it is..."

It hate depressing journal entries because then you just make other people wallow in your sorrow and have sympathy for you... but here goes. My girlfriend broke up with me last night. Two hours later she called me in tears when her parents got in a fight. This morning we spent an hour, both in tears, on the phone.

She loves me too much. That's what she says and that's the truth coming from her eyes. She'll be 18 in two weeks and feels that shes too young to be this in love. The way I see it, why not be in love and be 18 years old at the same time? Theres no rush, we can take our time. If we want to spend our lives together, whats the hurry?

She's clearly not mature enough to handle a relationship. I alway wonder if theres some bipolar disorder issues there that some pill popping couldn't help straight out. I lied, I don't wonder, I know.

In a final act of stupidity in this relationship, I'm going up to see her anyway in two weeks. It's a long distance relationship and I think it's crazy to end a year and a half serious relationship over the phone or especially the internet. You can all criticize me now or when this move comes back to haunt me in two weeks or so, or both, whichever you prefer.

Meanwhile, in other news, my mom is trying to figure out if her mother is slipping into the final stages of Alzheimers Disease or whether shes just a 75 year old alcoholic on pain killers. We know she's a 75 year old alcoholic on pain killers but could that cause someone to forget that their son got married in May? My dad also can't remember anything anymore, but he also happens to be a 62 year old alcoholic on various medications. Who knows?

I got an email from the head of my department last night. The subject was the name of my professor who, during finals week, had a severe heart attack despite her young age and otherwise good health. It was apparently caused by a rare drug disorder that was causing her heart to bleed. Expecting more bad news? So was I when I saw the email. I just thought to myself "I can't take one more thing." Well, the email said that she's doing a lot better, for now anyway. She can make it up and down the stairs but it said not to call because using the phone was seriously taxing on her energy. Thats a whole lot better than I thought the email was going to be.

Well, glad I could brighten up your day. Token smile: smile

Oh shit I am so sorry. This sounds kind of like what happened to me. My boyfriend and I are both 19, and we've been going out pretty much since the day we met, a year and some months ago. We spent the summer apart since we live in different states and when he came back last semester, he was just really anxious about the new school year and how things would be different and more intense. He basically stressed himself into being uncertain about everything, including me. But he hoped it would go away so he never said anything. Then when he had winter break and finally had time to think again, he realized how horrible that was to me, so he dumped me. It broke my heart because not only was he my boyfriend, he was my best friend too and I didn't think I'd ever be able to see/talk to him again.

We are back together now because a few days later he wanted to talk to me because losing me had scared him into realizing how much he does love me. He wanted another chance so I am giving him that. It'd be really hard not to since I still love the boy. And as one of my friends put it, everyone deserves a 2nd chance if you still have feelings for them, and if he wants to work for it, why not let him?

But yeah, he had dumped me over the phone since we are in different states but I was planning on seeing him one more time when he got back to talk about it, because like you said, you can't just let go of someone you've had for that long without actually seeing them. I don't think that is a stupid move on your part at all.

I'll keep an eye out for you on AIM if you want to talk. Feel better kiss

Aw, sweetie. frown

I don't think you're stupid for going to see her. Things like this get worked out MUCH better when you speak in person. I hope things go OK...
