For those of you that know me, you'll know I'm fond of a drink or six ... this has changed since xmas eve. Why, you ask? I offer this from another journal entry.

SPOILERS! (Click to view)

I spent Xmas eve/Xmas in hospital. Can't say I saw that one coming. How did this happen you ask?

I went to a friend's place for a couple of hours and left for home at 11pm because I was pretty tired (not to mention hungry). So I get home and make myself some grilled ham and cheese (inventive aren't I?) and grab a beer.

So I finish eating and I've washed it down with a Becks. I'm working on some drum programming and I decide it's getting late, I'm not getting much done, sleep sounds good.

So I get up to go brush my teeth and everything starts spinning. On top of that I'm feeling more and more like I'm going to throw up or pass out. I decide to sit down and see if it passes but it doesn't. I wonder if it's the beer (even though I NEVER react like this to ONE beer). Then I think maybe it's something I ate. Either way I figure if I feel like throwing up maybe I should, so I go to the bathroom to see if anything will come out. I never throw up very easily so it's no surprise that I'm dry wretching when I get there.

Of course now I'm feeling worse and worse and calling an ambulance is looking like a pretty good idea. I mean it could have been nothing, but how do I know?

So to cut this little story down a bit ... I get an (expensive) ambulance ride to the nearest hospital, get hooked up to a drip, take some stemitil and lie awake and unable to sleep in this tiny hospital bed with nurses rushing back and forth until 5am when I recover enough to catch a cab home. To think that 4 hours previously I couldn't even walk straight, and all this after ONE FUCKING BEER!

I thought I should let this be known since I'm bound to see some of you folks around and this will explain my lack of drinking heh. I still have a beer now and then, but since I still don't know what caused the above episode, I am trying to avoid having another one like it.

It is interesting! I'm always into mysterious health goings-on. (My mum's a doctor, so I read a few too many medical textbooks as a little'un, haha). If you find out what it was, do tell us.

(Also, karaoke late February. Early notice, I know, but I know you love karaoke and will want to put it in your day planner. Right? Hehe).

I used to stop singing when I pull up at the lights, but now I'm kind of into it, especially if a bit of Zep has come on, or Sabbath, or any band that lends itself to really spazzing out. I figure I find it so hilarious when I see other people singing like weirdos, so it's okay to provide similar entertainment to others.
