For every action there is an equal and opposite reaction: last night I had a shit-ton of fun, therefore today I am dragging a lot of ass.
The start of the night was a little bit frustrating. I decided to just have the concierge service at my building walk Hopkins for me while I was gone, which meant that they needed a copy of my key. It took me something like 45 minutes to get one made, because I had to go to five different stores before I finally found one that could make it. So I got to Lincoln a lot later than I wanted to.
I finally made it to Lincoln a little bit after five, and headed to The Old Pub to watch the rest of the Nebraska-Missouri game with my friend Cari. I had quite a few drinks there, and Nebraska beat Missouri pretty convincingly, so it was all gravy.
I was supposed to meet Terra for dinner at Yia Yia's at 7, but we ended up pushing that back to 7.30. Even then, she ended up being over an hour late, and she brought her fucking cousin along. It was the worst date I've ever been on. She was completely boring (I tried making conversation but she was really quiet and so was her cousin). I dunno if she was just weirded out by going on a date with someone she met on a dating site, or wasn't as interested in me as she led me to believe, or what, but whatever. I was ready to bail about 5 minutes in, and left after about 20.
So I went back to The Old Pub for more drinks with Cari, and then we decided to meet up with our friend Wyatt (who I haven't seen in at least a couple of years). We met at a bar downtown, but it was kind of ridiculous there so we decided to hit up a party that one of Cari's friends was having.
The party was good times, certainly better than I expected. I almost hooked up with this blonde chick (who I later found out is engaged), but got cockblocked by her friend (for obvious reasons). We ended up leaving at about 2.30, and then I drove home (I really shouldn't have - I was sober at that point but I was ridiculously tired).
I'm really not looking forward to work this week. We have to push out the project I went to Texas for by the end of the week, and there's a lot of work left to make it happen.
I am looking forward to the Azure Ray concert at the Slowdown on Wednesday night. Oddly enough I've never been to the Slowdown, even though I lived a couple of blocks away from it for almost a year. Should be good times.
My writing is utter gash today, my brain is just not functioning.
