My friends brother was killed in Iraq.
The Department of Defense announced today the death of three Marines who were supporting Operation Iraqi Freedom.
Lance Cpl. Jason C. Redifer, 19, of Stuarts Draft, Va.
All three Marines died Jan. 31 as a result of hostile action in Babil Province, Iraq. They were all assigned to 1st Battalion, 2nd Marine Regiment, 2nd Marine Division, II Marine Expeditionary Force, Camp Lejeune, N.C.
My friend had a worse thing yet, he had to break the news to his grandmother who raised the boy. I only met him a handful of times...he had a lot of promise. This is the second casualty that hit close to home this summer my units former Lt. lost an arm to an IED.
I wont state any political thoughts with this post today, b/c i dont want any political comments. I will say allot of good young troops are sacraficing much for this country.
