a brief update. my week has seemed really full and this weekend will be no exception.
this will actually be the first time in a WHOLE YEAR that i have had a real vacation. i have worked/gone to school with no more than a few long weekends straight since last december. kind of weird to think about.
tuesday: went to atx to see the faint/ratatat free with tues, caro, wade, & PerilsOfBeing. FREE. muaha! then ate at magnolia's. mmmm! magmud
wednesday: got my eyebrow pierced. was also my last day of work until jan. 2
thursday: went to SA with carols_way & PerilsOfBeing. watched a UTSA graduation while waiting for jay the mariachi to finish performing so we could go eat some tasty mexican food on the riverwalk. walked around downtown, admired the alamo, and rode some hotel's awesome glass elevator. it reminded me of willy wonka (the original!).
today: travel to fbg (i get to see my bro and mi padre!) for a few hours before going to sa tonight wih my sister before going to houston tomorrow until sunday with my grandparents to visit my mom. she has been in pretty hardcore rehab for the past 2 years and she just got re-entry status which means she should be out within the next 6 months. she has been in and out of rehab/jail for presripction meds since i was 15 and had problems going waaay back (one reason why i'm a firm believer in "what doesn't kill you makes you stronger". people always have it harder then you. you can change your situation. i don't want to hear you constantly complain about trivial shit just to try to make people feel sorry for you. enjoy your life. get over yourself). i'm really proud of her. she just finished 15 college credit hours (she dropped out of college when my parental units got pregnant with me) and she is working on getting her real estate license. my mom is such a wonderful person. drugs just consume people who feel like they have lost control over their lives. it's just a super intense form of escapism.
anyway
i also went to half price books the other day, so my reading list has expanded to include:
mrs. dalloway by virginia woolf
fall on your knees by ann-marie macdonald
in the shadow of young girls in flower by marcel proust
i hope my suri cat is ok while i'm gone. he was trying to actually get inside my keyboard earlier. the piano sounds were freaking him out

we like to hunt each other and then nap at the end of the day on each others heads.
