sooooooo
my day has been strange.
i had a semi-panic attack at work due to my western civ test. anxiety! instead of working i kept scanning my notes over and over. i think i was freaking out because when i went to the TA's study session, she "outlined" the "skeletons" of 2 essays that were each 3 pages long. plus all the info all all all i was looking at was super overwhelming. no more study sessions for me.
but i forgot how not hard history test are afterall.
my IDs kicked some ass. i knew all the terms including the dates - napoleonic code in 1904, compromise of 1867, catholic emancipation act of 1829, etc etc
and my essay wasn't too shabby. i had to write about the differences between william II & bismark's foreign policies and the events in the balkans that led to the outbreak of world war I.
i definitely passed, hopefully got a B, didn't have enough detail (3 emperors league, bosnian & albanian crisis) to get an A, but i felt super relieved when it was all over
then
my car, horton, dear old horton, died on me today. in the middle of the street. it was pretty heart wrenching. i was on a busy road by the school and tried to pull into this little exit on the **opposite side of the street because there was nowhere i could really safely glide to a stop on the right side. well, i almost made it. my car was jutting out into the street about a foot and a half. i was scared someone was going to pull around the corner and side-swipe it.
it's a good thing russell, james, and scott were all out and about and came to my aid. we had to push my car up over a hill direct it into the parking lot of the art building. success!
then i had to call AAA.
so i don't have a car anymore.
suck
which means about half of my life gets canceled out or i have to depend on others to taxi me around.
suck again.
but
caroline is buying little ceasars and coming to fetch me because she has another photo project to do and she needs a subject again. hooray! pizza! all is not lost.
i also found the PERFECT present for russell's birthday. i think his brain will explode when he sees his gifty.
i have a bunch of school shit i need to take care of - french homework, prepare for a debate in medieval history, write a report for gender in latin america, start researching for my latin america thesis that is due at the end of november (AHHH! it's coming up so fast!) but it's all good.
i'm just kind of sad i wasn't able to go running tonight and that unless i find a ride/accomplice, i won't be going to yoga tomorrow
(sorry for the length... i love daylight savings!)
oh, and i rented ed wood
