Good Day Stranger, its Your Friend the Shadow


I see my self in the Shadows, fully canvassed under the nights embrace

This sidewalk is lined with the footsteps of their failures

Fragmented rubble drowns in the sidewalks tears

Meaningless glances cascade off the backs of strangers

For the truth drowns on the lips of the liar

Anonymity replaces the familiar banter of words

Under black face and hopeless eyes the American Dream has succumbed to the days suicide.

I see myself in their shadows, the puddles filled with the tears of plastic fantasies, the dimly lit ally ways where the stranger becomes fiction and reality tightens its grip on asphyxiation

Good day stranger, another broken heart bleeds from the eyes of onlookers

Silence will be your only friend, as the cries of sheep will be muffled under the fangs of these cities wolves

I am just a shadow, canvassed under the nights silence

Background music to the prying eyes of familiar faces
