I wasn't going to use this feature initially. I've reconsidered... I think I'll use it for poetry and short fiction.

Losing My Fear

Im on the edge of the world
A million miles from everything
The land is a cracked and fractured plain
Desolate and cold
And yet more alive than any place Ive ever been
Somehow
I lay back, unmindful of the icy ground
And as I look into the sky, I feel weightless.
I am floating in midair, my body is supports the weight of the world
The night sky is a bottomless void
And I see a billion tiny diamonds
Sprinkled across the heavens like sugar scattered on a deep pool of velvet darkness
And my spirit exalts
It soars up and out, in all directions, and inside, as well
And to further places, harder to find by the mind
Until it is everywhere, and becomes one with everything
In that moment, I finally understand
I live and die countless lives, suffer terrible pain and experience the purest love
I know the warmth of the womb and the cold embrace of death
And suddenly, I know these two things are the same
I have lost my fear
And I can only feel thankfulness and gratitude for this wonderful life
And as the energies of the earth and space flow through me,
Healing me on every imaginable level
It becomes clear that this place can be Heaven
If we just let go
If we learn to lose our fear

He talked of his dreams in a strangely poetic fashion; making me see with terrible vividness the damp Cyclopean city of slimy green stone- whose geometry, he oddly said, was all wrong- and hear with frightened expectancy the ceaseless, half-mental calling from underground: "Cthulhu fhtagn," "Cthulhu fhtagn."
